Only those will say this who has no or little self confidence. They can not even imagine how they are going to look like on the photos. I have heard many times from couples that they have not even planned to have photos taken because they are ugly and they have never did this before. So for sure, it must be problematic and it is just an unnecessary hassle. Then once the work is ready they are surprised... wow, is that really me? Something will change... Of course it could be unusual to hear the camera clicking around and the fact that all of a sudden you are in the middle of attention but it usually lasts for only a short period of time, later you do not even notice it. As "the proof of the pudding is eating", they can get so inspired that the couple will come to me with new ideas "it is cool, but since we are here try this and try that as well"...
It is possible to take a very bad picture about a beautiful person but also an astonishing, spectacular should-be-in-a-magazine shot about someone who is much less beautiful than a supermodel. Everything is dependent on personal mood, atmosphere, settings, light conditions and technology. We try to get the best out of the given situation and make sure that the photo session is pleasureful and fun. If by any reason, the shot is not the best we make a second one, a third one or a series of pictures and pick the best and/or can digitally remaster what we have...
